NADA 2020 Chairman Rhett Ricart’s first message to America’s franchised auto dealers was straightforward: “You’ll be just fine.”
“The videos are truly inspiring and for many of us on this stage, they brought tears to our eyes,” said past ATD chairwoman Jodie Teuton. “We got so many great videos and it was hard to narrow it down to ten semifinalists.”
Assurant, Inc., a global provider of lifestyle and housing solutions that support, protect and connect major consumer purchases like automobiles, has contributed $25,000 through its Assurant Foundation to the NADA Foundation’s Workforce Initiative.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the NADA Foundation’s Frank E. McCarthy Memorial Program, which supports CCI; McCarthy was NADA’s chief executive from 1968 to 2001. To date, the KAR Global auctions have raised more than $586,500.
During his first speech as ATD chairman, Bassett, who also has locations in Toledo, Ohio and Indianapolis, shared his goals and platform for ATD during his two-year term.
Oscar Horton from Sun State International Trucks, LLC in Tampa, Fla. was named the 2020 Truck Dealer of the Year.
In his outgoing remarks as 2019 NADA Chairman, Charlie Gilchrist thanked America’s franchised auto dealers for heeding the call to become involved in NADA, saying it was instrumental to many successful initiatives throughout the year.
As she hands over the reins to incoming ATD chairman Steve Bassett, she reminded ATD members that their participation in the organization is vital and the value of engagement is unsurpassed.
In conjunction with the 2020 NADA Show in Las Vegas, NADA made a $50,000 donation to the Nellis Support Team, a nonprofit organization whose broad mission includes supporting more than 30,000 airmen and their families at Nellis Air Force Base, Creech Air Force Base and Nevada Test and Training Range in southern Nevada.
