March is Women’s History Month, and NADA honors the women in auto retail, past and present, who have made dealerships a great place for women for develop a career and succeed professionally.
For the past four years, NADA has hosted the Women Driving Auto Retail Video Contest to highlight the current voices of women working in dealerships and encourage other women to pursue automotive careers. Last month, in conjunction with the first-ever virtual NADA Show, NADA named Morrie’s Automotive Group of Minnetonka, Minn. as the winner of the fourth annual contest. Morrie’s was selected from 10 semifinalists and 60 total video submissions, each profiling a woman or group of women making strides in the auto retail industry.
While Morrie’s took home the grand-prize this year, there were many moving submissions featuring women from a range of experience and professional backgrounds. The stories of these three highlight examples of women making history in dealerships.
Ashley St. Pierre, Fred Martin Superstore (Barberton, Ohio)
Ashley is the marketing director at Fred Martin Superstore. She began working at the dealership in 2000, at the age of 16, as a cashier and receptionist. She remained with the company throughout college, and, after graduating from the University of Akron, joined the company full-time.
Tiffany Crawshaw, Fiore Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi (Hollidaysburg, Pa.)
Tiffany is a new to the automotive industry, with one year under her belt at Fiore Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi. She is currently an Audi brand specialist. Prior to joining the auto retail industry, Tiffany was in food and beverage for over a decade and decided to pursue her auto career after a positive experience with a dealership saleswoman.
Nicole Oeser, Mohawk Honda (Glenville, N.Y)
Nicole, a sales and leasing associate at Mohawk Honda, has been in the industry for six years and began her auto retailing career at an upstate New York Toyota dealership as a receptionist, where she quickly moved into finance and decided the industry was where she wanted to stay.
